Skipped some teams where I saw no obvious budget players and where pen taker is obvious. When I have written 6/7 that means has played in 6 out of 7 possible games indicating to possible rotation threat. I also did not add pen taker where it was impossible to know for sure.

So this is my UCL dream team for this week. I went for Robben, Lichtensteiner and Emanuelson in my personal team too. And I have the big hitting forward line along with Vidal. Hopefully the reports from Germany are correct and Robben starts, and I really think Milan could surprise people with a win here after winning 5-1 in Serie A in the weekend and Emanuelson is key to most of the things they do offensively.

Goalkeepers:

Begovic- One of the best defenses at home vs the worst offense in the league

Guzan- Villa at home vs Norwich probably low scoring so Villa very likely for a CS.

Defenders:

Richards- I went for Richards over Kolarov here as he is more nailed on this week with Maicon and Zabaleta out. Overall a very attacking defender with a good fixture this week.

Santos- Very attacking player and a differential with a nice fixture.

Huth- Stoke are the likeliest for a CS this week, and Huth is the most attacking of their defenders.

Boyce- OOP defender with a nice fixture and lots of goal threat.

Gorkss- Reading should be better defensively than they have been so far and have a nice fixture this week. Gorkss is also a nice goal threat from set pieces also very cheap.

Midfielders:

Gervinho- This is a big risk over Cazorla since it is dependent on weather he will play as the striker or on the wing. But I just don't like Cazorla that much any more after I got him in my team :). I feel a bit cheated after falling for his flair.

Cazorla- I at least had to put him on the bench

Nasri- Great differential with a good fixture. Should be very involved in all of City's attacking as long as Silva is out.

Bale- The best player in the team playing against the worst defense in the league. I also considered Dempsey for the differential value, but just could not overlook Bale here.

Maloney- What is there not to like about him attacking, on penalties, cheap and has a good home fixture vs West Ham this week.

Forwards:

Aguero- is probably the best forward option this week, providing he starts the game.

Ba- is my favorite forward option so far this season, and a great option this week against the struggling WBA defense

Defoe- I love basically every attacking player going against Southampton, so Defoe is the obvious choice for my third striker.

Really strong offensive presence in the defense this week, outside of Davies. All teams represented have a great chance for a CS and at least one of that back 4 should produce attacking returns.

I really like Valencia and Gerrard this week for their differential value and both with great fixtures and very likely to start. Michu and Nolan as the budget heavy hitters- both offer loads of goal threat for their price and both have a great fixture this week. Pienaar only made it to the bench, mainly because he is the only one of my players with an away game.

I went for some ultimate differentials here: Andy Carroll and Giroud facing the worst defenses in the PL look like great options, especially with ownerships like 0.6% (Carroll) and 1% (Giroud). And RVP here also with a nice home game. Suarez barely missed out, but I felt I already had too much Liverpool.

I have gone for the heavy hitters in defense as I feel all the historically solid defensive sides like City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham will come good this GW. A WBA defender misses out on the starting lineup mainly because of the injury issue in the back line. If I owned any of them they would go straight in my starting lineup.

Its time for Michu to deliver after many of us have kept faith for a long time. Same goes for Hazard. I got Dempsey instead of Bale for the incredible differential value. Petric just missed out whereas Berbatov(if fit) would have been in instead of Torres. I watched the WBA game last week and Morrison was impressive- so I am backing him again this week. Sterling is my best dirt cheap option this week.

I find it impossible to rank them very clearly but I will try

1. Ba- he simply is the best striker available IMO- but it is a long term move because of his poor fixtures in the next 2)
2. Berbatov(if fit)
3. Suarez- the most expensive option and Short term, but he is a man in great form after scoring this week in europa league while only playing some minutes in the second half.
4. Defoe/Jelly- Defoe has got better fixtures at the moment and is able to get more explosive scores from time to time, but he has Ade looking over his shoulder. But Jelly could be the smart option out of all of them, but smart is boring and that is the reason for his low rank.

The Champions league is upon us again, and it is time to enjoy some top quality football. But first lets make sure our fantasy teams are in order.

!!!FOR PEOPLE WHO PLAY THE OFFICIAL UEFA GAME!!!Dont forget to use managerial subs, that means start all players who have a game on day 1 and switch the ones that did badly out for your day 2 players. Bench: Mannone(GK) Sammir, Nonkeu, Demichelis

Captain day 1: Messi
Captain day 2: Ronaldo

Comments:

Defenders and Goalkeepers

Jenkinson and Mannone- two 4 mil defensive players for an improved Arsenal team with a good home game vs Olympiacos are very good value.

Vidal is just the best defender in his game for his Pen duty and for the fact that he is actually a midfielder and he will probably be in my starting lineup all season long.

Cant look past Marcelo this week with his explosiveness on the offensive end going against a weaker Ajax side

On the bench are 2 cheaper options with good fixtures IMO Nonkeu vs Braga and Demichelis vs Anderlecht

Unnerstall keeps his place with a 3 mil price tag and a nice fixture coming up.

Midfielders

Lampard(only 7mil) is likely to start tonight and is always likely to put in a good game in the UCL(also takes pens for Chelsea)

With Rooney and RVP reportedly starting this time for United, I really like Nani at 7.5 to be the man getting the assists with all this striking power up front

Kroos speaks for himself with his form and price and with Robben out this week- he is the best Bayern midfielder for fantasy in my opinion

Cazorla- another Arsenal player is a even a long term move with 2 great home fixtures up for the Gunners- he is also the center of all Arsenal attacking play- so bound be a part of some points this week and/or the next.

One the bench we have Sammir a man with an incredible form in his home league, hopefully he can find his feet in UCL too.

Forwards

I just cant look beyond Messi despite the tricky fixture- you just know he can pop up with a brace in any game and a reliable captain option as always

Cristiano Ronaldo- the man is selfish and on pens and most free kicks for Real madrid. That is exactly what you want from your fantasy player- he is also the best C option for day 2

Hunterlaar- great fixture and a great player- enjoy the points :)

I was planning to overview the over- and under-performers during the International break, but with a game-week where many differentials had a great performance and many regular names failed to perform I thought it was a good idea to do it now and maybe help some managers avoid knee-jerk transfers.

!!!On a side note:
I will not look at some of the players that went crazy this GW like Suarez and Sahin- but I do suggest not to get carried away with all the bandwagons. Out of the players with big scores this gameweek I see these players as possible good long term investments: Suarez, Gerrard, Sterling, Jelavic, Bale, Verthongen, Mata, Gervinho, Silva, Ramirez(Southampton), Walters, Morrison, Ba, Torres(only because Chelsea still look like they will play him constantly), Aguero, Van Persie, Rooney, all Stoke defenders and Sunderland defenders, Clark

Over-Performers

Peter Crouch- I looked at the entire PL career for Crouch to get a better idea of his normal conversion rate, mostly because last seasons was offensively very poor for Stoke, so his stats were probably worse than normal for last year.

I inserted Hazard here as a reminder to keep faith with players especially if they have a home fixture VS Norwich coming up. As we see he is due a goal or even 2 in the coming fixtures. This situation is similar to the one of Michu at the present time. And as a warning sign we can look at Gareth Bale who was sold by many after a few poor game-weeks.

Comments:

I went for 4 defenders this week as outside of the Everton game I feel that this could be a low scoring GW. All very scoring defenders and likely for a clean sheet.

Hoilett earns a spot in the midfield as one of my favorite differentials and having a great fixture this week and Fellaini is a must with his form.

Jelavic another great differential and will get the C armband in my personal team.

Fletcher was a must with his form and the fixture against Wigan at home.

Good luck for this week to everyone and follow me on twitter @KristjanPulma for more fantasy PL and UCL related stuff.

If you cant be bothered to look through all of the options, I posted my favorite ones in the bottom of the article. Here are some explanations of the terms used:

KP-key pass, SPG-shots per game, the number with the % sign = percentage of teams selected by

Midfielders

With Liverpools fixtures improving one of those 2 will be in my team.

LIV 9.4£ Gerrard 3.8% (2.6 KP and 2.6 SPG) Takes pens, corners and many set-pieces as well
LIV 4.6£ Sterling 5.4% (2.6 KP, 1 SPG)

Depending on playing time, one of those 2 could be a nice player once the fixtures clear up again.
CHE 8.9£ Mata 3.7%(1.8 SPG, 2.5 KP)
CHE 7.8£ Oscar 1.1%(2.3 SPG, 1.3 KP)

Sunderland are strangely defensive at this point, but once they pick things up both of those players could be nice assets.
SUN 6.4£ McClean 2.6%
SUN7.0£ Adam Johnson 1.9%

Southampton are very attacking so any of these 3 players could be nice for your team
SOT 6.0£ Lallana 1.5%(2.4 SPG 1.8 KP
SOT 4.4£ Puncheon 1.1%(2.8 SPG 1 KP
SOT 6.0£ Gaston Ramirez 0.3% ( 2 SPG 3 KP)

Maloney is kind of OOP on the wing of a front 3 and as he takes pens and some set pieces he is one of my favorite budget differentials
WIG 5.0£ Maloney 1.4% (0.8 shots 1.8 KP Pen taker)

Snodgrass has amazing stats and is one I am closely looking at as soon as the fixtures improve in GW 9
NOR 5.9£ Snodgrass 1.4% (3.2 SPG 1.8 KP)

Best offensive asset in QPR, playing almost as a striker and I am keeping a close eye on him
QPR 6.0£ Hoilett 1% (3 SPG)

West Brom are not very attacking, but if you should choose any attacking cover from their team it would be one of these players, need to check on their fitness before making that decision though
WBA 6.0£ Morrisson 1.7% (2 SPG 1.8 KP
WBA 5.8£ Brunt 0.6% ( 1.6 KP Set pieces and Pens)

Strikers

Great differential offensive covers for the nice run of fixtures everton have.
EVE 8.4£ Jelavic 5.9% (2.3 SPG, 1.8 KP)
EVE 7.4£ Mirallas 0.4%(4.6 SPG 2.6 KP but playing as a winger)

Sadly his stats not good to use as he only played a few minutes in his first game but he is the best City offensive cover IMO, also the penalty taker when Balotelli is not playing
MCY 11.0£ Aguero 5.6%

MUN11.7£ Rooney 5.1% (3.5 SPG should be the penalty taker(stats are also questionable with one 26 min game) best Man United offensive cover IMO)

QPR 6.4£ Zamora 1.5% (1.8 SPG 0.8 KP possible pen taker)

AVL 8.2£ Bent 1.4% (3 SPG 1.6 KP) Best Villa offensive cover

Defenders

QPR 3.9£ Nelsen 2.9% ( one of the best cheap defenders and an ok areal threat)

TOT 6.4£ Verthongen 2.6% (goal threat and Tottenham should shoren up at some point)

FUL 4.5£ Hughes 2.2% (nice cheap option in a good defense )

CHE 6.5£ Luiz 2.5% (1.5 shots(more than lamps) nice goal threat in a good defense)

LIV 6.4£ Glen Johnson 2% (great attacking stats for a defender in a ok defensive team 1.4 SPG 1.6KP)

AVL 4.4£Clark 1.8% ( 1SPG and cheap)

WBA 5.0£Olsson 1.8% ( cheapest nailed on defender in a great team with decent areal threat)

STO 5.5£Huth 1.1% ( great areal threat in a good defense)

WIG 5.0£Boyce 0.4% ( OOP and Great offensive stats for an average defensive team 1.4 SPG 1.2 KP)

ARS 5.4£Sagna 0.1% ( once fit, will be a good offensive threat on a very good defensive team)

STO 4.5£Wilson 0.5% ( offensive threat( 1SPG 1 KP on a good defense also takes some set pieces from time to time)

My best differentials in each position:

Defenders:

STO Wilson- cheap, attacking and in a good defensive team

QPR Nelsen- he is just the best option for your cheapest defender in my opinion

LIV Glen Johnson- great attacking stats in a good defensive team

WIG Boyce- great attacing threat

Midfielders:

LIV Gerrard- Best big hitter differential in my opinion

NOR Snodgrass- lovely stats for a player that cheap, will be in my team once the fixtures clear up

QPR Hoilett- the man is basically a striker with great shot numbers, the best QPR offensive cover if that is ever needed

CHE- Both Mata and Oscar will be great options if they can find stable game time

Strikers:

MUN Rooney- Best Man United offensive cover in my opinion and should be on Penalties even with RVP there.

EVE Jelavic- great option with the current form of Everton, if he is fit for the weekend than he will take over from Anichebe who had 10 shots on the last weekend- for Jelly that will mean more than 1 goal.

MCY Aguero- Best City offensive cover and the pen taker when Balo is benched(which is most of the times

Shots on goal, ownership numbers and Key pass stats for these players are noted in the full list upstairs.

Captain options are Zlatan for GD1 and Messi for GD2

Subs: Unnerstall, Boateng, Vida, Rafael

Reasoning for these selections:

GK: Bayern defenders are very close to a must have and all of their value options are not very attacking so you could just have Neuer and pair him with the ultra cheap Unnerstal.

Defeners:

I cant not have 2 Barca players and Alves coveres both defense and offense.

Vidal is my favorite defender in this game and Ill keep for the entire seaso, I call him "Baines on steroids"

Jenkinson at 4 mil I think he is a super option for the defensively in form Arsenal

Vida- looks like the best 3.5 option to have so far

Rafael a very attacking option for a top side with a good home fixture

Midfielders

Sammir and Renan Bressan are the best budget options IMO

Robben is the best UCL mid if playing, very attacking and greedy plus takes pens for one of the best offensive sides.

Reus was the top scoring midfielder who does not take pens in the top leagues in europe last season, and very likely to do well against a leaky Ajax

Boateng is one of my favorite picks who did not make my own team for budget reasons, mostly because of AC Milans horrible form so far. But he is taking loads of shots and a goal is bound to follow soon, especially with their early good fixture

Forwards

I have avoided the budget forward for GW 1 as I think Messi is a must have, Zlatan the best C option for GD1 and not having RVP could turn out to be a horrible mistake. I also found the budget options in the middle of the park and in defense much more appealing.

Players who just missed out either because I already had 2 players from their respective team or for other reasons:

Valencia- great fixture and great player, but I fould Rafael too good of a value to miss

Blaszczykowski- Player in great form with a great fixture

Hummels- great fixture and RB magnet

Boateng- went for Neuer over him

Mkhitaryan- best cheap option available, but I did not go that route

Mandzukic- I love Robben and my big hitters too much

Gibbs- could be rotated with Santos

Mannone- went for the cheaper Unnerstall for budget reasons

Santi Carzola- preferred other expensive options to him, especially with his high ownership

Fabregas- went for Alves over him

Kroos- have him in my own team, but I think defensive cover for Bayern is more important and there are better players for a attacking cover, but he is great value

Good luck for this Gameweek and dont forget to enjoy the games :)

To conclude I will rank top 10 defenses and offenses for GW1, as a suggestion point I will use the sum of the defensive and offensive output of opposing teams, but I will also very strongly consider the current form and level of the leagues when making my decision.

Defenses

1. Bayen Munich- with all of their defensive assets fit and Javi Garcia added to their squad I think they are the likeliest option for a CS

2. Arsenal FC- With Montpellier struggling in Ligue 1 and Arsenal showing excellent defensive form I would not be surprised to see them grab a CS here despite the away fixture

3.Barcelona- There is some reason to be careful here with Puyol out inured and Alba possibly missing out with a Virus but a home game against a struggling Spartak Moscov is still a very good bet for a CS.

4.PSG- Thiago Silva looks set to make his debut against Dynamo Kyiv and Kyiv aren't banging the goals in in their local league either.

5. Manchester United- With questionable defensive form in the PL and a very attacking Galatasaray team as an opponent, the Man United defenders will have their work cut out for them. But I think they might just get it done.

6.Borussia Dortmund- They are a strong defense, but fell so far mainly due to the ability of Ajax to put the ball in the net. I see a 3-1 win here for Borussia

7.Shaktar Donetsk- they have impressive form in the Ukrainian league and if Norsjaelland is not the next Basel than they could keep the CS without any mayor problems.

8 and 9 SC Braga and CFR 1907 Cluj I can see this being a low scoring draw so 0:0 could be on the cards.

10. Real Madrid- despite the horrible form I still expect them to motivate themselves for CL and pull off a 1-0 win here.

Offenses

1. FC Barcelona- at home against the leaky Spartak

2. Mancester United- at home against an even leakier Galatasaray

3. Borussia Dortmund- Home game vs very leaky Ajax

4. Bayern Munchen- Home game and impressive form against a struggling Valencia

5. PSG- Home game against a weak Dynamo side, but their own questionable offensive form ranks them down here

6. Shaktar Donetsk- Very good form and a possibly easy home game, hard to tell where the goals will come from though.

7. Arsenal FC- Good form and against a struggling Montpellier side- but I wont get over exited after they run rampant against a horrible Southampton. They still are not a very high scoring side, and the goals could come from anywhere.

8. Benfica- Great fixture and form but playing away against a decent home side

9. AC Milan- Great fixture, but horrible form in Serie A so far.

10. Really impossible to make the difference between the rest

The International break is upon us and many fantasy mangers are using their wild cards. An excellent time to look back on the first 3 game weeks and see who have over- and underperformed. Hopefully this will help some people with some key decisions in their wildcard teams. First up the players who are bound to have a drop-off in production.

Yaya Toure- Unless you are expecting him suddenly to play more forward than last season than look out for that drop off, especially once Silva returns to form-which should happen soon.

Than there is also Michu and Dyer 2 players who are continuing to over-perform. Are they having a super half-season like Ba, Papiss Cisse or Sigurdsson had last year or will they drop off before January. Michu in fact has so far scored with every shot on target 4 of 4, this percentage will certainly drop a bit. But saying all this, there is no way I would get rid of either of those players even with Pablo Hernandez threatening Dyers game time as he is a RM as well. But I would not go out of my way getting either of these players in my team, but if you can than the next 5 games of A Villa(A), Everton(H), Stoke(A), Reading(H), Wigan(H) still offer a good opportunity for them to continue their run.

And now the hard part, as players bound to perform are harder to predict as many players produce most of their goals and assists in short spurts of form rather than constant output of points. But if a player is strongly underperforming it raises the odds of these spurts of form starting next gameweek.

Id like to give a special section here for Tottenham players. Because despite all the hate against AVB, I still think his players will start producing at some point. Maybe it is because I own Adebayor or because I am nostalgic and can't see fit players not regaining their normal scoring form. So lets look at them 1 by 1.

Gareth Bale- This kid is the streakiest player in the Premier League, going on scoring runs and dry spells of epic length. He was one of the top scoring midfielders in the PL last season, despite not scoring since January. Hopefully linking up with Adebayor again will set him off. Now lets look at the stats and see just how full the bubble is.

GW1-3: Shots taken:11 Goals scored:0

GW1-3: Key passes made:8 Assists made:0

Normal rate of shot conversion: 3.8 shots per game, 15.2 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 2.3 key passes per game 5.91 key passes per assist

After investigating the stats we see that he is not really underperforming, but I still predict a goal and an assist for him in the next 2 game weeks.

Adebayor- He has great potential as Tottenham need goals and he will also most likely take penalties for them. What worries me is that he has failed to register a single shot in 65 minutes so far. I guess we will have to wait for the next game to assess him further.

Sigurdsson- This man has potential, but has been subbed off early or benched in every game so far. So far it looks like AVB does not trust this man too much, and I would not like to own him before things settle down and he starts getting more minutes.

Defoe- This one is a strange case as the man is getting played in multiple positions in the front 4 and AVB seems to like him, but I personally cant wonder why. We need to see how he fits in with Adebayor starting.

Darren Bent- Bent started the season with great expectations as Lambert taking over the coaching reigns had us expecting goals all over. Surprisingly all of the big names for Villa have let us down, but lets look at what the stats say.

GW1-3: Shots taken:9 Goals scored:0

GW1-3: Key passes made:5 Assists made:0

Normal rate of shot conversion: 2 shots per game, 4.88 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 1 key passes per game 22 key passes per assist

Considering that last year Bent spent under McLeash, we can predict that his shots per game and key pass numbers will remain higher than they were last year, but shot conversion rate is very likely to remain similar. Bent faces 2 home games vs Swansea and West Brom and a trip to leaky Southampton in the next 3. Considering he also takes penalties I would not be at all surprised to see him score at least 2 goals in the next 3 GW-s. An ownership of 1.6% makes him an even tastier option.

Adam Lallana- He has taken 10 shots in the first 3 game weeks, so he is bound to put 1 in the back of the net soon, as last season he got a goal with every 6.5 shots. But I am not being too bullish with this one as the man often takes shots from deep and the Premier League is a bit different than the Championship.
Sadly I cannot find key pass stats for him from last season. That is sad as he has completed 1.7 key passes per game this season which is very high for a striker and he also has a decent number of assists from his previous seasons-15 for 70 games started in the past 2 seasons.

Enjoy! This is now complete with all budget defensive options, but I would suggest everyone to invest in their defenders as they are the best vale players in this format with points for recovered balls.

AC Milan

M 7.5 Boateng- 7 shots per game 1 key pass per game so far in 2 games

F 8.5 Piazzini- takes penalties, could be a nice differential

D 4.5 Acrebi- started last 2 games, so could be a cheap way into the Milan defense

RSC Anderlecht

M 4.0 Guillaume Gillet- nailed on mid and has scored 2 assists this season in 5 games.

D 3.5 Deschacht- is a nailed on defender for them but is currently slightly injured so there is need to get updates on his situation before putting him in your lineup.

Ajax

M 4.0 Thulani Serero has started 4 out of 4 games so far and has scored 3 goals, and has also got a red card to his name. Could be a very nice 5th mid.( did not play in the last game, so check lineup before getting him in)

M 4.0 Ryan Babel has somehow managed to end up in Ajax, but I see no stats of him playing this season so I don't know what to make of him at Ajax.

Arsenal

D 4.0 Jenkinson- with Sagna still 3 weeks away from returning according to Wenger on 13 sept. Jenkinson could even give you 2 gameweeks if you choose to pick him

D 4.5 Gibbs- is very cheap and should be nailed on at least until Santos gets fit I suggest checking the lineups with him as well as Santos is a real threat.

M 6.5 Alex Oxlade Chamberlain- great option if starting just make sure that he does.

Zenit

GK 4.0 Malafeev- cheap GK in a good team

M 5.0 Faizulin- 3 goals on 7 games so far, much more attacking than Shirokov, usually plays LAM

D 4.5- Domenico Criscito and Lombaerts- cheapest nailed on defenders for Zenit( domenico is more attacking)

Chelsea

M 7.0 Lampard very cheap for him, might miss some games but takes pens and is always a decent option in the CL

Celtic

M 4.5 Commons- has scored 2 goals in 3 games so far

D 3.5 Wilson has started 4 of the five games so far and had a sub appearance in the game he started on the bench.

D 4.0 Charlie Mulgrew- fairly expensive for the celtic defense and was injured for the international break, but if he manages to get fit than he could be an interesting punt as he takes free kicks and scored 8 goals with 6 assists last season while playing only 29 games.
!!!(Thanks to KOL from FFS for pointing this one out)!!!

Bayern Munich

F 8.5 Mandzukic- only 8.5 mil is a steal until Mario Gomez is out, he is the second best scorer for them this season with 2 goals.

D 5.5 Boateng- Safest and cheapest option into the Bayern defense.

M 6.5 Toni Kroos somehow kept his cheap price, there is no guarantees of him playing advanced, but he takes some FKs and is always a threat, so you can do worse for that money.

CFR 1907 Cluj

D 4.0 Cadu- takes penalties

D 3.5 Maftei- most nailed on 3.5 defender for them has started 6 of 7 games in the premiership and has scored 2 goals in those games

Dynamo Kyiv

F 6.0 Brown Ideye- has scored 7 goals this season in 8 games and is the top scorer for his team, next one in the line has 2 goals so Kyiv are counting on him to score.

FC Bate Borisov

M 4.5 Renan Bressan - Takes penalties is second highest scorer in the team this season with 6 goals in 17 games has also added 4 assists

D 3.5 Radkov- cheapest nailed on defender in that team

FC Nordsiaelland

M 4.5 Stockholm - Second highest scorer for his team this season with 2 goals in 6 games.

D 3.5 Runje- Cheapest nailed on defender for them

FC Porto

F 6.0 Martinez- pen taker, joint top scorer this season with 2 goals in 3 games

D 4.5 Maicon- cheapest way in to the Porto defense started all 3 of their games so far.

FC Shalke 04

D 4.0 Uchida- cheap nailed on defender in a good team

M 6.0 Lewis Holtby- 1 goal 1 assist so far this season with 2 games. averages 2 shots and 2 key passes per game

GK 3.0 Unnerstall- with Timo Hildebrand likely injured for several more weeks with a knee injury, the 3.0 keeper has been starting instead of him in goal and will continue to do so at least for the first CL fixture and will likely be there for the entire first round.

Shaktar Donetsk

F 5.5 Henrick Mkhitarjan- has scored 11 goals 4 assists in 8 games this season( crazy stats)

Spartak Moskva

M 5.0 Kombarov is the top scorer this season with 3 goals in 6 games, should be the penalty taker as he has taken 2 this season. I more penalty has been taken this season by Biljaletdinov, but he missed that one.

D 4.0 Makeev and Suchy are both nailed on as Parshivlyuk is out until January.

Dinamo Zagreb

D 3.5 Vida- nailed on 3.5 defender and has scored 2 goals this season in 6 games

M 5.0 Sammir- has scored 8 goals and 2 assists in 7 matches this season is also the penalty taker.

M 4.0 Marcelo Brozovic- nailed on mid at 4 mil as he has started 6 of 7 games so far and has scored 1 goal and 3 assists.

Galatasaray AS

F 5.0 Umut Bulut- top scorer for Galatasaray this season with 4 goals in 3 games in the premiership and 6 goals in all 6 games played in.

D 4.0 Nonkeu- After Tomas Ujfalusi collapsed in training and was ruled out for 4 moths a week ago, Nonkeau started the 1 game that has been held with out him in the center of the defense, so he could very well be a budget option into that defense.

Juventus

D 4.5 Lichtensteiner super cheap way in to a great defensive team

D 5.5 Vidal Penalty taker for a very good team and also playing OOP in the midfield has scored 17 goals and 15 assists in his last 2 seasons.

Manchester United FC

M 6.0 Ryan Giggs- I have a gut feeling that he will start most UCL games this season as well and put up nice stats.

D 5.0 Rafael, probably the cheapest nailed on option in the United defense

D 4.5 Büttner, Evans- If you fancy a risk than Büttner who replaced Evra this weekend against Wigan(could find himself nailed on at some point after impressing on his debut with a goal and an assist), or Evans who is now fit and likely to rotate one of Ferdinand and Vidic in the UCL.

M 7.5 Valencia, Nani, Ashley Young- anyone who starts from this list is a very good option Valencia is the only nailed on option for GW1 though.

Real Madrid

D 5.0 Arbeloa- cheapest option into the Real Madrid defense

Barcelona

GK 6.0 Victor Valdes- cheapest option into the Barca defense

Malaga CF

D 4.0 Demichelis, Welington- both are nice cheap options for a good ok teams defense.

Olympiacos FC

I cant understand what is going on with this team half of the defenders are playing in the midfield :)

GK 3.5 Roy Carroll- has started both of the league games so far and seems to be the first choice keeper instead of the 4.0 Magyeri

D 4.0 Holebas- 1 of only 2 players to make a penalty last year so could take 1 if it comes up. And is a nailed on 4 mil defender for them.

D 4.0 Modesto- nailed on and playing OOP as a CDM

D 5.0 Maniatis- playing OOP as a CDM a tad higher than Modesto

D 5.5 Paulo Machado- playing OOP as a LAM

M 4.0 Dimitrios Siovas - has scored 1 goal so far but is a nailed on option at 4 mil which is rare in the midfield. But he is actually negative OOP and playing as a CB.

LOSC Lille

D 4.5 Beria is the cheapest nailed on defender on that team

SC Braga

GK 4.0 Beto- nice and cheap for a decent team with ok fixtures.

D 4.0 Paulo Vinicius - cheap and nailed on

M 5.5 Ruben Michael- top scorer so far for Braga but started 1 of the 2 games on the bench

M 4.5 Alan- is team captain and an attacking mid

Valencia

GK 4.5 Diego Alves- cheapest nailed on option into Valencia defense along with Pereira

D 4.5 Joao Pereira- cheapest nailed on option into Valencia defense along with Diego Alves

M 5.5 Fenghouli- Attacking mid scored 1 goal this season and started every game.

Benfica

F 5.5 Rodrigo- Is Benficas top scorer so far with 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games.

GK 4.5 Artur- is a decent option at his price

D 4.5 Garay- cheapest nailed on defender

PSG

GK 4.5 Sirigu- cheapest way into the PSG defense

M 6.0 Nene- is a great option if starting( has started 2 of 4 games so far and came on in both games where he was benched)

Eden Hazard is the best player in the FPL so far, and there are many Hazardless managers who are nervously observing how his price rises even on the wake of a blank GW for Chelsea. One of those managers happens to be me, so there is need to analyze weather this is just another bandwagon bound to run out of steam or the new coming of the dominant FPL midfielder.

To start it off lets look at some statistics Hazard has produced so far.

GW1and2 Shots taken:6 Goals scored:1

GW1and 2 Key passes made:8 Assists made:6

Normal rate of shot conversion: 2.8 shots per game, 8.85 shots per goal(with no penalties included as he took 9 last year and probably wont take many this year, the number would be 5.32 if I would include penalties)

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 2.4 key passes per game, 4.56 key passes per assist(I included 4 assists for penalties won as Chelsea have earned an average of 7.2 penalties in the last 5 years, I feel that this year the number would be above average, but no more than 12. Taking that number into account and also the average number of fouls per game in the PL which is approx. 12(based on 10/11 season) and the number of average fouls per game on Hazard which is 3.5 on the average of his last season and current 3 game sample. So I made an educated guess of 33% of penalties for Chelsea will be won by Hazard, meaning 4)

So if we in light of all these numbers I tried to estimate his season totals in assists and goals.I will use his current key pass and shots on goal numbers as a basis for this analysis and as the sample size is only 3 games against sub par opponents I would advise taking the results with a pinch of salt. This is merely to find out how he would perform if he would continue at the same pace in terms of making key passes and taking shots with his normal conversion rate for both. This also would mean that he would take part in all 38 games.

The results were as follows(both numbers rounded out): 13 goals and 23 assists.

As he will most likely face some rotation due to cup games and CL, especially with all the attacking mids Chelsea have, I find the more likely result to be something in the lines of 10 goals and 18 assists.
These numbers would most likely make him the top scoring midfielder with a score of something around 225-250 depending on bonus, as hes points would mostly consist of assists than bonus maybe not on par with his skills so that may hinder the scores a bit. Saying all that I believe once Lamps retires and this kid takes charge of pen duty we will have the rebirth of the dominant FPL mid in our hands.

My personal suggestion: GET HIM GW4 or 5 the latest and keep!
Or just big guns who have been not getting enough attention.

I will use the same method as I did in the last article to rate performances, so check it out if something remains unclear.

To start off this post I will add 2 players who may seem to have underperformed but really did not. Despite being impressive goalscorers in their pre Premierleague career, they have been horrible during there time in the PL. This could be down to their teammates being unable to feed them with quality passes, or being able to turn their key passes into assists. But largely it is down to the quality of their final touch, as both players are impressive on the ball, but fail to insert that quality in to their finale touch of the ball.

!I will post this as a warning, that you cannot find gems by purely looking at stats, and watching the games and assessing their pass and shot quality is also helpful.!

Perennial underperformers

Adel Taarabt:

GW1: Shots taken:8 Goals scored:0

GW1: Key passes made:5 Assists made:0

Normal rate of shot conversion: 3.3 shots per game, 44 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 2.2 key passes per game 19.8 key passes per assist

I actually think that he will do better than last season and will be investing in him when fixtures improve for QPR, but not as good as the potential his stats show us.

Luiz Suarez:

GW1: Shots taken:8 Goals scored:0

GW1: Key passes made:2 Assists made:0

Normal rate of shot conversion: 4.1 shots per game, 11.636 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 2.1 key passes per game 21.7 key passes per assist

Suarez is a very good player in real life and is more likely to do better than Taarabt, but he is also 3.5mil more expensive and takes up one of the valuable striker spots. So I find it hard to understand why people are investing in him unless the fixtures get too good do ignore.

GW1 under-performers

David Silva:

GW1: Shots taken:4 Goals scored:0(also a missed penalty)

GW1: Key passes made:3 Assists made:0

Normal rate of shot conversion: 2.4 shots per game, 14.5 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 2.9 key passes per game 6.96 key passes per assist

Nothing extreme here, but the missed penalty caused a panic for some of the owners as the negative NTI suggested.

Santiago Carzola:

GW1: Shots taken:4 Goals scored:0

GW1: Key passes made:7 Assists made:0

Normal rate of shot conversion: 2.4 shots per game, 9.888 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 2.9 key passes per game 16.72 key passes per assist

Carzola earned raving reviews from most people who watched the game, I personally did not and looking at his last years statistics I will remain cautious until the fixtures improve for Arsenal. But Spanish creative midfielders tend to do well in the PL especially with assisting, we can look at Silva with 15 and Mata with 16 last season as an example. Carzola is also a better shooter of the ball than both of these players, but most of his goals last season came from outside the box so how much he will score with his long range efforts remain to be seen. But if he continues with his current volume of key passes and shots than points are sure to follow and I am keeping him closely in my watchlist.

On the bubble:

Kagawa(4 key passes 0shots)
There were plenty of moments where Kagawa was in the box and just a good pass away from a goal, all of his passes were also very good and he was unlucky not to get at least 1 assist.

Ji Sung Park( 6 key passes)
Ji can also score goals and if he continues to put up similar key pass numbers than assists are bound to follow also.

Siggurdson(3 shots, 3 key passes)
Very unlucky not to score or assist, was involved in most things Tottenham did and also took charge of many set pieces. The situation with VDV still needs to be monitored, so I am not suggesting you buy him just yet. But if he continues in the same role than points will come sooner rather than later.

Rooney and RVP
Stats dont suggest much, but my gut is telling me that both of these players will score near 10 points in the following gameweek and I would suggest putting your armbands on them.

Good luck with GW2, hopefully my reviews were a help!
My plan is to look at GW1 and see who over performed and who underperformed. Looking at efficiency and general luck involved in FPL points scored. This should help to decide which bandwagons are worth riding and which are not. I will use last years statistics as a viewpoint for normal conversion rate on shots and key passes, with some exceptions.

Lets start with the over-performers...

Ivanovic:
 This man will not score 24 points in a game week again. So there is no need to jump on his bandwagon now. A. Cole could do just as well going forward. And as Chelsea are looking like they will sign a new RB soon Ivanovic may soon find himself under threat of rotation.

GW1: Shots taken:3 Goals scored:2

Normal rate of shot conversion: 0.8 shots per game, 7.33shots per goal

Collins:
 9 points from a West Ham defender wont be a regular incident, so there is no point paying the extra 1 million for Collins over Demel.

Michu:
This man is a great player and I own him as well, but 2 goals and an assist wont happen every week. So there is no reason why you must bring him in unless you have a free transfer to spare. Cant see him going crazy 2 weeks in a row.

GW1: Key passes made:2 Assists made:1

Normal rate of shot conversion: 2.4 shots per game, 5.866 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 1.1 key passes per game 13.5666 key passes per assist

Dyer:
Dyer is also a good player and very cheap so I don't see why one cant jump on him, but don't expect him to score with all his shots like he did this week, so don't spend 4 points on him or make him your captain. The new coach of Swansea uses hes wingers differently and Dyers potential certainly has increased, but I am not getting too exited.

GW1 Shots taken:2 Goals scored:2

GW1: 0 key passes

Normal rate of shot conversion: 1.3 shots per game, 8.8 shots per goal

Lampard:
The man is still a good fantasy player, and this was not much of an over performance as he usually creates more scoring opportunities. But the low shot and key pass numbers are worrying and he is hardly to get opportunities to score from the spot in every game which is exactly what happened in this double game week.

GW1 Shots taken:3 Goals scored:2

Normal rate of key pass conversion:1.8 key passes per game 10.8 key passes per assist

Duff:
I have nothing against the man, he is just not worth a spot on any fantasy team roster.

GW1 Shots taken:2 Goals scored:1

GW1 Key passes made:2 Assists made:1

Normal rate of shot conversion: 1.5shots per game, 21 shots per goal( this is a bit extreme and it seems that he had a very bad last season, but I dont see a big improvement coming up)

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 1.1 key passes per game 10.266 key passes per assist

Petric:
This man is in a new team and in a new league, so this could improve his performance from his Bundesleague days. So I will use his stats from 20010/11 season which was the best for him at least conversion rate wise for both goals and assists. In his last season for Hamburg he only scored 7 goals with 70 shots and 1 assist all that in 26 games.

GW1 Shots taken:3 Goals scored:2

GW1 Key passes made:1 Assists made:1

Normal rate of shot conversion: 2.9 shots per game, 5.727 shots per goal

Normal rate of key pass conversion: 0.6 key passes per game, 4,4 key passes per assist

Defoe Dzeko

GW1: Shots taken:7 Goals scored:1 Shots taken:3 Goals scored:1

Dzeko and Defoe are both good players, and did not do anything too out of the ordinary but both of them wont get enough playing time to be worth starting in fantasy teams.

Worth a mention:

Here I would like to add the players who slightly over performed, but have a low enough price that I don't mind seeing them in teams: Guthrie,Kacanikilic. Than there is the case with Hazard, who over performed assist wise, but failed to score a goal which is something that I would expect him to do more often. I am not expecting similar point output to continue, but currently he seems like the best value in the Chelsea midfield so I strongly suggest getting him in your teams for GW4.

Now my opinion on which one of the over-performers bandwagon is worth riding?

I actually don't think any of the over-performers is a must have. But Michu as the only 100% nailed on Swansea midfielder is certainly close to that, but there is no harm in getting Dyer or Graham instead of him. Hazard is also one of the players I am looking to get in my team, but not before GW4 as Chelsea have a blank on GW3.

Under-performers post will follow soon, that can also be used as a pre-preview for GW2

With the opening game of the Premier elague season just 3 days away, I will be taking a look at teams with the best fixtures for the first 6 gameweeks.To find the team with the best fixtures I used a simple method of rating every game of every game week from best to worst. The team with the worst fixture got a rating of 20 and the best fixture got 1.

Top 6 scores were the following: Swansea- 47, Aston Villa-49, West Ham-50, Manchester United-51, Manchester City-54, Newcastle United-54.

Honorable mentions: Sunderland-58, Tottenham, WBA, Wigan and Chelsea with 59.

This creates a general picture and may help when you are struggling to fill some open spots on your team. Now to get a better idea of who to pick for GW1, lets add the rating off the first 3 game weeks to the selected sides. Mostly because some of the players could be better used playing at the start of the 6 gw period and some at the end. This will help to plan transfers.

Scores for the first 3 fixtures in declining order: Swansea-19, Man City-20, Man Utd-21, West Ham-26, Wigan-27, Tottenham-30, Sunderland-31, Newcastle-32, Chelsea-32, West Brom-38

All this gives a pretty good idea of who to put in our teams to start the season. With 2 exceptions- Chelsea and Tottenham. Chelsea start off with a double game week with both games against weaker sides, I dont think you can not have less than 2 Chelsea players. Tottenham have 4 great fixtures in the middle of 2 very bad ones I would also recommend going with some Tottenham cover or at least get some in GW2.

Also Newcastle and West Brom deserve a special notice as they have poor first 2 fixtures but should be invested in after GW2.

Chelsea

I have always been a sucker for a DoubleGameWeek, and this time is no different. So no matter the ? marks surrounding many of the Chelsea players form and playing time I will have 3 of them. Defensive options are the safest as at least 3 of them are nailed on and will most likely play the most minutes of all the Chelsea players. Ivanovic and A.Cole are both 6.5m and nailed on while Terry 7m is the best attacking option. Many may even choose to double up on the defenders, because of the guaranteed playing time and that is not such a bad idea.

There are also plenty of midfielders to choose from. Mata 9.5m, Lampard 9m, and Hazard 9.5 mil could all prove to be good options. Mata is the most likely option to play the full 180 minutes, with Hazard new to the premier league and Lampard being old and just playing 60min on wednesday for England. Than there is also Ramires 7m, the man rarely scores or assists and is not really a differential anymore with 18% owning him, so I own him at your own risk.

I don't quite believe I am saying this, but the main man is Fernando Torres 10m, as he is nailed on to start both games and is probably the best captain option around.

Swansea

Swansea with a 6 GW score of 47 and 3 GW score of 19 is by far the team with the best fixtures. I strongly recommend having at least 1 Swansea player in your team to start the season. Graham 6m is the obvious option after scoring 6 goals in pre- season, but if you cannot fit him into one of your 3 forward spots, that take a look at the proven Scott Sinclair 7m or take a risk with last seasons top scoring midfielder in La Liga Michu at 6.5 m. Nathan Dyer could also yet again prove to be a bargain with a much cheaper price of 5.5m. But the emergence of Wayne Routledge is making me wary of choosing him.

Many people believe that Swansea will fail to repeat their defensive output of 14 clean sheets from last season and the preseason has backed up that belief. But Mallorca- the team that Laudrup coached in La Liga was one of the 4th best defensive team conceding only 2 goals more than Valencia, so investing in one of the 5 million Swansea defenders is probably not the worst of ideas. I would recommend Rangel for his possible attacking returns.

Man City

Man United were actually the second best team in my system, but United have a very tough first fixture Away at Everton. And City face a questionable defensive side Southampton at home and also QPR at home in GW3. I fear that both these fixtures may be a bloodbath, with 3-4 goals in both games not impossible for City. With this reasoning I am recommending a minimum of 2 City players for game week 1.

For defensive cover I recommend Zabaleta 6m- he is the cheapest option at the back and should be nailed on at least for a month(until Richards recovers from injury).Or if you are feeling lucky than try out Kolarov at 6mil, who will be playing as a midfielder if Mancini continues with his new found 3-5-2 formation.

But the attacking players is where the investment is most crucial as big teams tend to concede in the beginning of the season, but often rack up tons of goals especially against newly promoted sides. Midfielders present us with a fantasy managers a headache. Nasri 8.5 mil-
seems like the best option as long as Silva is resting, as he plays
furthest forward in the 3-5-2 and also high up on the flank in the
4-4-2, but he faces rotation from Silva who is very likely to replace
him once he gets his legs under him. Silva 10mil- is clearly the best option when fit, but when that will happen, we dont know. Yaya Toure 8m is a great player but often sits deep and is very inconsistent.

Because of those reasons I have decided to avoid the City midfield and look at the strikers for attacking returns. Aguero 11.5m is expensive but should be nailed on and taking penalties while Balotelli is not on the pitch. Tevez 9m on the other hand is too cheap to ignore for a top 3 side striker. After thinking about this issue for a few days I realized that both players are a must for GW1, especially as I dont see a midfielder we can count on.

Manchester United

The second best team in my rating system Man Utd is a tough nut to crack as the transfer rumors of RVP are muddying the water. And there is basically 1 nailed on attacking option and that is Wayne Rooney 12 mil. I am still undecided on how Robin van Persies 13m addition will affect him, but I am pretty sure that he will still be nailed on and will still take the penalties. If you are looking for United attacking cover than Rooney is who I recommend to get. RVP at 13 mil looks overpriced at united especially if he does not take the penalties. I recommend a wait and see approach with him.

If anyone of the 3 wingers could nail down a starting role they will be in my team Nani 9mil, Valencia 9mil, Young 8.5mil could all be super options when nailed on. Than there is Kagawa 8.5 mil, many see him as the best option in the united midfield as Fergie usually buys people who will improve the current team and based on that logic he could be starting ahead of many current players. But with some adjustment time needed and his role still undecided I will comfortably wait and see weather he will become a good fantasy option or someone like Modric.

One of the safest options to invest in united in my opinion is David de Gea 6m, he is the cheapest nailed on option in the united defense as we dont know who will play RB for united and Rio Ferdinand will be rotated as often as possible for Fergie. DDG could also face rotation from Lindegaard, but I feel that he will play much more minutes than last season. To be on the cautious side I would recommend pairing him with a 4.5 keeper to avoid 0pt game weeks. I have decided to go that route and mr De Gea goes streight in my team.

Tottenham Hotspur

As I noted before Tottenham has been treated unfairly by my rating system. And probably has the best looking fixtures starting GW2-GW5. But finding the right player to pick is not the easiest of jobs. Defensively there are 3 great attacking options- Walker, Assou-Ekotto and Verthongen all 6.5 mil, but personally I don't trust any of them to be worth their cost as AVB has proven so far to have a bad influence on defenses. Id much rather pay the extra 0.5 for Vermaelen, Vidic, Baines or Kompany. Other options include GK Friedel at 5.5m and Kaboul 5.5m, Dawson 5m and Gallas 5m. The cheap CB who get chosen for that remaining CB spot would be the player I would choose. But overall I think the Tottenham back line is overpriced.

As defenders are not inviting me to invest we have to look at attacking players. Bale 9.5m is the boring and probably the best pick here as he is nailed on and should fit well into AVBs system. Than there is Siggurdson 9m the miracle man of last years second half of the season, there is a possibility that he could play a bit deeper especially with Modric probably leaving, so I am taking a wait and see approach with Siggy. VDV 9m on the other hand is someone who I interests me maybe it is just nostalgy but I feel that he is the best fantasy player for the spurs if he would manage to stay fit and the points per minute prove it. So as it is the beginning of the season I feel better investing in him, also because he is too lazy to be played defensively and too good to sit on the bench. So he will play either in the hole or on one of the wings. He will also take penalties unless Adebayor comes to town.

I fully expect Tottenham to buy another striker, but if they dont than Defoe at 7.5 mil could be a super sleeper with a minimum of 15 goals to his name if he manages to stay fit.

Aston Villa

Aston Villas fixtures sure look tasty so investment looks like a must and they have a new coach in Paul Lambert who has a very offensive philosophy, but there is a catch as Lambert is well known for rotating his squad constantly and not paying too much attention on defending( this became very evident as Norwich(his previous team) only kept 2 clean sheets last term. This probably already made it clear that I dont see a point in buying Villa defenders.

So lets look at the attacking players. There are 2 names that pop up and who will probably be less affected by rotation- Nzogbia and Darren Bent. Nzogbia 6.5 m is well remembered by many from his Wigan days and the best option from the current Villa midfield. Darren Bent 8.5m has always been a great striker should also take penalties and I dont think that 13-15 goals will be a problem for him this season. Bent is the man I would recommend if you believe that Villa will go nuts offensively.

West Ham

West Ham probably have the best fixtures of the entire bunch, but they lack good options so I am not sure if I will find money to invest in them. Luckily their players don't cost too much, especially the defenders. Demel 4m and McCartney 4m should both be nailed on for now and one of them will find their way into my team. Especially with their investment in defensive players like Diarra who played great for France at the Euro 2012.

Attacking options fill me with less optimism, best options so far seem to be Nolan at 6m who scored 12 goals for Newcastle in 10-11 season(some of them from the penalty spot dough) and Noble 5m who is on most set pieces and spot kicks. The striker situation is still murky as their coach big Sam is still desperately trying to find a new striker. I would not touch any of their current strikers with a large pole, at least for now.

Best of the rest

Investing in Newcastle and WBA can wait. But Sunderland and Wigan do have a couple of players who could be nice additions to our teams.

Defenders:

(SUN) Cuellar 4.5 mil- This guy is a fresh face in the Sunderland team, but is the cheaper starter in their backline, no further reasons needed.

(WIG) Boyce 5 mil- Is not the cheapest option but plays OOP, in the same position as Ramires does for chelsea, I may be a bit too high on him as he scored 2 goals for me at the end of last season and won me my H2H finale :). But positive OOP olayers are always good options.

Midfielders:

(SUN) Larsson, McLean both at 6.5 mil are the players I would look at in the Sunderland midfield. Larsson is on all set pieces unless Saha takes some off him, and McLean is just a fabulous player who could be a real steal if he continues last seasons form. There is also Sessegnon at 8m- but I feel that he is just a bit overpriced for me.

(WIG) Victor Moses 7mil who first comes to mind, but without any set-pieces I dont see a way that I am picking him at that price. Maloney 5 mil seems like a much better choice dough he carries a risk of rotation, but the spot kick duty more than makes up for that. There is also Miyachy the loanee from Arsenal, but I am still undecided on how he will fit into the team.

Strikers:

(SUN) Louis Saha(price undecided) is the best striker at Sunderland if he manages to stay fit, which is a big if, he can even take spot kicks as he has done before, playing at Man Utd for an example.

(WIG) Wigan have now got 3 strikers so I suggest to avoid that situation completely.

NB!!! Remember people, set up your teams today. There is a big chance FPL may crash tomorrow morning :)

Man City

Midfielders-
David Silva at 10 mil is again the top man here and they guy you want when investing in Citys midfield. Unless Samir Nasri at 8.5 mil can cement his place in the starting lineup and avoid rotation. That would make him a better pick than Silva IMO, mostly because of the 1.5 mil cheaper price. Also Yaya Toure at 8 mil has shown potential in the pre-season and there are reports saying that Silva is too unfit to start the season. This news could make Yaya a nice pick as he would play further up the pitch.

Strikers-
Aguero at 11.5 mil is the best pick here, as he is the only nailed on striker for City. The case with other players is similar to Nasris case. Because if either Tevez or Balotelli both at 9 mil, can nail down a starting role than they will be the guy to put in your team. Especially Balotelli as he is their nr.1 penalty taker.

Man United

Midfielders-

The United midfield looks like a minefield for fantasy, the best chance for a player to be in the starting 11 every week is Kagawa at 8.5 mil in my opinion. At least the guy will have a chance to nail down the starter role in the beginning of the season. As Ferguson rarely brings in guys for 20 mil who are not an upgrade on someone already playing. But as I said the situation is a minefield and should be avoided during the start of the season, to observe and see who the nailed on guys are. I actually think that there wont be any nailed on players, and there will be rotation year round, especially as it looks like 1 more player (maybe Lucas Moura) could be coming in.

Strikers-

Wayne Rooney at 12 mil is the man if you want offensive cover for United. Probably the only nailed on player for them, on penalties and set- pieces. He is also a bit of a sleeper this year as he will play more games as the main striker with Kagawa behind him.

Chelsea

Midfielders-

Hazard at 9.5 mil is not cheap but also not expensive, he is also nailed on and the most attacking midfielder on the team. A guy who also has some striker mentality and is often looking for his shot. Juan Mata at 9.5 mil, was expected to miss the start of the season. But with Spain out of the Olympics, he should be available for at least 1 of the first 2 games. This makes basically everyone on the team a rotation risk, but I still think Hazard will play and will pick him with confidence. Also Lampard at 9.0 could be a nice differential.

Strikers-
Torres at 10 mil, is currently the striker to own at Chelsea. Lukaku at 6.5 mil has looked good during preseason, but Torres will still get a chance to impress or fail at the start of the season and as they have a DGW to start with I wont be bold enough to avoid him. Lukaku is certainly one to put on the watch list- unless he moves elsewhere(rumors suggest a loan move to Fulham is happening). Also Hazard who has been compared to Messi can play as a striker if needed, but I just cant see that happening in the PL. Chelsea have also had a bid for Lewandowski rejected so it seems it is possible that 1 more striker might be coming in.

Arsenal

Midfielders-

Arteta at 8 mil- should be a better option this year if RVP leaves as he should be on all set pieces and penalties, but he faces some competition from Podolski so that is not set in stone. He could also play in the hole as Arsenal are without Rosicky for the start of the season. Walcott at 9 mil-Seems a bit expensive, but is always a good pick unless he starts to get rotated with Oxlade Chamberlain 7.5 mil. Everyone wants to see the OX play. IF instead of Walcott or more centrally, as we remember Rosicky is injured for the first few games at least- I would not be surprised to see Ox getting a game or 2 behind the striker instead of Arteta.

Fixtures are bad enough to wait for a few games before investing.

Strikers-

I know he is 13 mil but if he stays than RVP is still the player to own here. But that looks unlikely, so we need to look at Podolski 8.5mil or Giroud 9mil. First impressions suggest that Podolski will play on the left side of the front 3 as he does for germany, and Giroud will play in the middle. That would make Giroud the man to own here. Luckly the fixtures are not that good to start with so we have time to wait and see.

There is also talk that both Giroud and Podolski could play up front in a 4-4-2 this would boost the outlook of Podolski by a lot. But the sad news is that both of the players may not be fit to start the season, so a wait and see approach is still the best here.

Tottenham

Midfielders-

Gareth Bale at 9.5 mil seems to be the favorite choice so far for Tottenham and I dont disagree. As AVBs system favors wingers to do well. There is also some love for Sigurdsson 9 mil after his impressive previous season with Swansea, I am still on the fence with this one. As Siggy will be a bit deeper, and expected to create more for others IMO. I also think there are 2 sleepers here: VDV at 9mil or Lennon at 7mil. If either one can nail down the RAM spot than they will probably be the first players on my team sheet. Many will say that VDV does not like to play as a winger and that he does not track back. But wingers in the AVB system are not out and out wingers and need to do less defensive work. Also AVB has always preferred a left footer who can shoot as his RAM(Hulk, Sturridge). There is one more way this could work, which actually could be the best option for AVB in my opinion. That is to play Bale at RAM and Defoe at LAM, that would fit perfectly into his system that usually relies on wingers for goals.

Strikers-

Adebayor at 9.5mil is the only reliable striker option right now, unless he fails to complete the transfer from City. But Defoe at 7.5 mil could be very nicely priced if he manages to nail down a role on the left as I have predicted as a possibility or as the main striker when Tottenham are left without Ade.

Newcastle

Midfielders-

Sleeping on Newcastle players cost me a lot of points last season. But I am still remaining cautious with any of them, as I feel last season could have been a fluke. The conversion rates were out of this for more than 1 player, this just does not feel sustainable. And also all of their prices have inflated out of the building. Best of the bunch still seems to be Hatem Ben Arfa at 7.5 mil. There is also a chance for a budget option here to emerge in case Gabriel Obertan manages to regain his starter role, as he is priced at a mere 4.5 mil.

Strikers-

Despite the 9.5 mil price tag there is no way one can look elsewhere for a newcastle striker than Cisse. There are rumors floating around that Carroll might come back to town, and Ba could regain his role as the central striker. But as long as that happens Cisse is your man.

Liverpool

Midfielders and Strikers-

It is nice to see that Liverpool are starting with a bad run of fixtures as there are so many ways that they could line up under the new manager. I personally wish they would start with Steven Gerrard at 9.5 mil at the role Sigurdsson played for Rodgers at Swansea, with Suarez at 9.5 mil and Downing at 6.5 mil on the wings and Borini at 8.0 mil or Carroll at 8.5 mil as the central striker. This would be perfect for fantasy, as we could get rid of the head ace that is Suarez as he wont be worth a pick as a winger, Gerrard would turn into the sleeper of the season with the chance to revive his form of old after a fairly decent euro tournament. Borini or Carroll would also be worth a look at their discount rate and Downing would be a nice budget option on the left.

My suggestion is: avoid all Liverpool players for the first fixtures, until we see how they line up. Also Carroll looks like he might be moving to West Ham, he looks like someone to avoid.

Everton

Midfielders-

Pienaar at 6.5 mil has not yet signed for Everton, but if he does he will be the main midfielder pick from Everton. The young Ross Barkley at 4.5 mil could also break out this season and is someone to keep an eye on.

Strikers-

Look no further than Jelavic at 8.5 mil, I feel that he is a bit expensive. But if he continues last seasons form he will even be a cheap option, especially if Baines leaves as that will leave him with the spot kick duties as well.

Fulham

Midfielders- Clint Dempsey at 9.5 mil.

Strikers- Mladen Petric 6mil- a talented striker coming in from Hamburger S. V. has a potential to be a fantasy favorite as he has a possibility of taking free kicks and penalties for Fulham as he has done for his previous club and Fulham just lost their former spot kick taker in Murphy.

West Bromwich

Midfielders and Strikers-

It is hard to look further than Brunt at 6 mil and Odemwingie at 7 mil at the moment as the new coaches tactics and favored formations are still unknown. One for the watch list is Yassine El Ghanassy at 5.0 mil the kid brought in from Gent on loan with an option to buy is an attacking wing player who can also play as a striker.

Swansea

Midfielders-
Although his price came in a bit too heavy for my taste. It is still all about Michu 6.5 mil for me, slightly cheaper than the 7 mil Sinclair- who I think will still do well. But could lose some set piece duties to the incoming spaniards. Michu, will be the midfielder playing further forward than any other and is a guy always looking to score. He was the top scoring midfielder in La Liga last season with 15 goals, even dough he was playing for a side placed in the lower half of the table(15th).He will also be a big differential compared to Sinclair, that could boost your team score nicely compared to the casual player.

Strikers-
Graham at 6 mil is the only choice there, and I will look more towards the Swans midfield if I choose to invest in their attack. He is simply not worth the valuable striker spot IMO.

Norwich

Midfielders-

Appointment of a new coach is bound to bring stability and more investment into Norwich assets seems a good idea this season. As for midfielders Pilkington and Hoolahan both at 6 mil are the players to watch here with Surman at 5 mil a nice budget option who could prove to be the best pick as when he plays he takes on more shots than any other midfielder for Norwich (1.6 )

Strikers-
Look no further than Grant Holt at 6.5 mil if he manages to stay put, the man is always impressive when he plays and should keep a starting role under Hughton. Also takes the spot kicks and had most shots on goal for Norwich last season. I would also keep an eye on James Vaughan 4.5mil, the former Everton players career has been plagued by injuries. But he is or at least was one of the fastest players in the Premier League, so he should be on your watch list.

Sunderland

Midfielders-

Sunderland team has 3 good options in the midfield Sessegnon 8 mil, McLean 6.5 mil, Larsson 6.5 mil, Personally I see Sessegnon still as the best option, since it is very likely that he will continue playing as a forward. Larsson on the other hand could be on all set pieces, and McLean has some great goalscoring ability- so it is tough to decide who will be the obvious pick here.

Strikers-

It seems likely that Bentner will not return to Sunderland, that opens a door for a budget forward. And this is a situation that I am watching very closely as Connor Wickham, Campell both at 5.5 mil and even Ji Dong-Won at 4.5 mil can be productive when given the starting role.

Stoke City

Midfielders and Strikers-

Jonathan Walters at 6.5 mil is still the only Stoke midfielder or striker worth investing in IMO

Wigan Athletic

Midfieldersa and Strikers-

It feels funny when the season begins and you are thinking of investing in Wigan defenders instead of attacking players. But that is the case for me at the moment, especially if Boyce carries on playing in the midfield. Moses at 7 mil has been overpriced IMO, and the cheaper options are not cheap enough either. If we look at Jean Beausejour at 5.5 mil, he provides 2.3 key passes per game, but with only Di Santo converting them I dont feel comfortable putting him in my team. There is also Shaun Maloney at 5.0 mil, but just know. One player who has a chance to impress is Jordi Gomez at 5.5 mil who has also taken penalties for them when on the pitch, and is 4th in the team in terms of shots on goal per game with 1.9

Di Santo at 5.5 mil is also an option, but he will need to impress to take one of my valuable striker spots. Mario Boselli at 5.5 is also back and he is scoring goals in the pre season.

Aston Villa

Villa have a new manager in Paul Lambert the former Norwich manager, this makes me cautious investing in the Villa players as this guy is known for rotation. And it is hard to know who will be preferred by the manager. One stat to note here is that Paul Lamberts team scored joint most headed goals last season. So players with ability to head balls and put in crosses should benefit from his presence at the club.

Midfielders-

NZogbia at 6.5 mil, Albrighton 5.5 mil, Bannan at 5.0 mil, Ireland at 5.5 mil and Holman at 6 mil all belong on the watchlist.

Strikers-

Bent at 8.5mil and Adbonglahor at 7.0 mil both deserve a look, but I feel Bent will be the main man because of his spot kick duties and his ability to head the ball better.

QPR

Midfielders-

Despite last seasons failure Taarabt at 6 mil is still one of my favorite budget picks, his role in the hole and better knowledge in the hole will serve his fantasy managers well this season. He may also be on penalty kicks again, despite failing to take some last season, but that seemed to be a punishment for his disciplinary issues, also Helguson who took them last season seems less likely to be on the pitch now with Zamora and Cisse in town. Hoilett has also been brought in and at 6.5mil is a good option as well, I would not advice picking him instead of Taarabt, but I wont.

Strikers-

Zamora(1.5-SPG,2.4-KP) and Cisse(3.3-SPG 0.5-KP) both at 6.5 mil. Both are decent options, but as Cisse is more likely to score given he takes on twice as many shots as Zamora- he will be more likely to get bonus points. That just makes him a tad better and the one I would go for. I know there is a risk of a red card, but the reward is just that much better that it is worth it.

Reading

Midfielders and Strikers-

I am remaining cautious on Reading attacking players as they owe their promotion to the Premier league mainly to their defensive abilities. They like to play with a target man a la Roberts. All the reports remind me of Stoke and if it were not for their DGW in GW1 I would avoid them completely at first. Right now the only choice seems to be Pavel Pogrebnyak at 5.0 who could also be on spot kicks if Shorey ousts the regular spot kick taker Harte to the bench at the RB spot.

Southampton

Midfielders-
Adam Lallana at 6mil is the main man in the Southampton midfield, but I feel he is a bit overpriced. His 11 goals and 10 assists are unlikely to translate into the Premier League, and I project a maximum of 5 goals 5 assists for him this season, but the number is more than likely to be even less than that.

Strikers-
Richard Lambert at 6mil is the main man for Southampton, and should be the guy to invest in if you are looking to invest in Southamptons attack right away. Last season stats 25 goals and 12 assists last season, and what is even more impressive is the 92 shots it took him to score that 25 goals. That is a fairly decent conversion rate and I think 10 goals and a few assists are achievable for him.

West Ham United

Midfielders and Strikers-

West Ham seem very likely to bring on another striker and current strikers are not something I would look to invest in anyway. So a midfielder Mark Nolan at 5 mil is the main man to consider here. With a nice cheap price spot kick duties and some set pieces in the bag he seems most likely to translate most of his goals(8) and assists(9) over to the Premier League

But a quick overview of the more interesting prices released will be a nice warmup.First up Goalkeepers and Defenders. I will darken up all the important spots and even underline players who I think are the best defenders available right now. So you would not have to read through all of my babble :)

Goalkeepers

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

It looks like there wont be any 4 mil budget keepers this year as all starting keepers are at least 4.5 mil.

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Joe Hart is the most expensive keeper at 7.0 and someone I will never have in my fantasy team

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

All last years budget keepers are now overpriced(Vorm 5.5, Krul 5.5) as teams like Newcastle and Swansea are unlikely to repeat last years defensive showing. Especially Swansea after switching coaches and losing Caulker

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

De Gea is surprisingly 6.0 mil, as I expect him to play more games this season.Looking like the best keeper out there in fantasy right now.

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Best dirt cheap options seem to be: Ruddy 4,5 mil as Chris Hughton seems to have a more defensive approach than the previous coach had, Green 4,5 mil as QPR have invested some money in the back by bringing in Fabio and the new keeper, If either Begovic 4,5 mil or Sorensen 4,5 mil manages to nail down a starting spot they may be worth a look as well as Stoke will always be relying on defense for wins, or Federici( Reading) 4,5 mil as they are the team with least goals conceded from the clubs that have risen to the PL.

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

As the goalkeeper rotation may cost you anywhere between 9-10 mil, the one big team keeper and 1 4.0 mil non playing keeper strategy might be an option for this year. De Gea, Reina, Szczesny or even Krul for the believers in another great season from Newcastle might be options here. Also there are 4 mil defender options available for Reading, QPR, Norwich and no nailed on cheap options for the big teams so that might make that extra 0.5 or 1 mil spent on the expensive keeper even more reasonable.

<h2 style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

Defenders

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: left;">
I will look at teams defenses separately here as there will be a time where you could want a defender from any team.

Man City

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Kompaly 7.5mil, Lescott 6.5 mil, Clichy, Kolarov, Zabaleta, Richards all 6mil and Kolo Toure the possible budget option at 5.5 mil. I never like super expensive defenders unless they have superior goal threat like Vermaelen or Baines. So no Kompany for me, but that leaves us with a bunch of players who could all be rotated. The players I like here are Zabaleta(especially with Richards playing for team GB at the olympics) and Clichy who seemed to be the favored full backs in the crunch time of last season. There is a need to examine preseason closely as City have a decent run of opening fixtures including 2 home games against easier opponents QPR and SOT and 2 away games against STO and LIV who are both not known for their scoring.

Man United

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Vidic and Evra 7 mil- not someone I will be looking at as I think they are overpriced. Ferdinanand, Evans and Jones 6 mil, Smalling and Rafael 5.5 mil. Looking at all the possible rotation here for the below 7 mil options I see even more of a point in going for De Gea in goal.

Chelsea

John Terry 7 mil, A.Cole, Cahill, Ivanovic, Luiz all come in at 6.5 also Cech in goal is 6.5. This makes A. Cole the obvious player to pick here, as he is the only 6.5 defender who is nailed on.

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Arsenal

7mil Vermaelen, probably my favorite scoring defender, but with the alternatives much cheaper it might be hard to go for him. When fit, than Sagna at 5,5 mil is the best option for the Arsenal defense IMO, Koscielny also at 5.5 mil is good as well but could be facing rotation as Mertesacker is fit again(but personally I really dont understand why any manager would want the German playing) Gibbs and Santos also at 5,5 mil but rotate each other. Jenkinson at 4.5 mil could be worth a look at the beginning of the season if Sagna fails to recover in time to start in the first games. And again Szczesny could also be an option here at 5.5 mil, if you want someone who is nailed on for the first game.
<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Tottenham

BAE, Walker, Verthongen all at 6.5 mil are all someone I will avoid in the start of the season until AVB convinces me that he can make his team defend in the PL. Kaboul at 5.5 mil offers a cheaper way in the Tottenham back 4 and could be worth a look considering their excellent starting fixtures of NEW(A),WBA(H) NOR(H), RDG(A) and QPR(H). But I fear there may be rotation here with Dawson(reportedly could be the next captain for Tottenham), Gallas, Caulker all at 5.0 mil, or any of them could start instead. Because Tottenham have a new coach in AVB and with good showings from some squad players in the training camp, things may change especially in that 1 CB spot. Again Friedel is an option here at 5.5.

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Liverpool

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Johnson and Agger come in at 6.5 mil and Skrtel and Jose Enrique at 6 mil. Carragher is 5.5 mil and Coates 5.0 mil but both are unlikely to be starting any games. !But there are rumors that Agger or Skrtel could leave Liverpool which puts both Carra and Coates on my watch list! Liverpool have good defenders and the new coach plays a stile which produces clean sheets so if the fixtures look good any of these options could be worth a pick. There is also Reina at 6.0 mil

Everton

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Baines comes in at a more reasonable 7 mil this season and should be used as normal. Jagielka is 6 mil is overpriced IMO along with Hibbert, Distin, Heitinga all 5.5 mil. I personally dont see much value here even if Baines gets sold as there is no obvious budget option taking his place. There is also Howard at 5.5 but I will avoid all of them unless they hit really good form or have a DGW.

Newcastle

<ul style="color: black; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

R.Taylor is 5.5 but not really nailed on, so I dont think he is that good of an option unless some other players get injured. Santon, S.Taylor, Simpson, Coloccini all at 5mil and surprisingly look good value as I expected them to be 5.5 mil. It looks like Debuchy might be joining them for france so I would suggest to avoid the full backs for the start as there are 4 of them. Also S. Taylor might not play all games right away as he is coming back from injury, so Coloccini is the man to go for here.

<div style="color: black; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Swansea

<ul style="color: black; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Every one of the established back 4 Williams, Rangel, Taylor, Chicho come in at 5 mil, a bit overvalued if you ask me, but if you believe in Swans doing well defensively it is better to go for one of the back 4 than Vorm at 5.5- I would prefer Rangel as he seems to be the most attacking option.

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Stoke City

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Huth comes in at 5.5 mil and Shawcross at 5 mil- there is always value here as both are goal threats, but I will need to see some better defending performances for investment as there are better options for that money. Rest of the Stoke back 4 come in at 4.5mil and Wilson looks like the most nailed on option and finally classified as a defender

<div style="color: black; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Fulham

Kelly at 4.5mil is one of my favorite budget options. He should be nailed on and also cheap. Hangeland at 5.0mil is an option too for the greater goal threat.

West Brom

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Steve Clarke the new coach of WBA is known to be very defensive minded and somewhat to thank for the decent defensive output of Liverpool last season, where he spent his time as an assistant coach before joining WBA. I am just pointing this out as the WBA defenders dont come cheap, especially for a team that was not that good defensively last season. But as their new coach will surely bring improvement in that department we should be looking to invest some money in their back 4. At least we have gotten lucky here as WBA start with 2 difficult fixtures LIV(H) and ToT(A), as they currently have only 3 players nailed on at the back-Olsson, McAuley, Ridgewell. Whoever will be the 4th one will be the name in my teamsheet, the nailed on players are not set in stone either as a new coach can bring changes. Lets the game show us the budget option here.

Wigan

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Has been a team to avoid defensively in recent seasons, but after collecting 5 clean sheets and many big wins over teams like Man United, Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool in the second half of the season they need to be taken seriously this time out. Boyce at 5.0 played OOP at RM last season and is a good punt if you like offensive defenders, If you want something cheap than Fiqueroa at 4.5 is your man.

Aston Villa

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

I suggest to avoid this team in the beginning of the season as they have a new manager(Paul Lambert) who showed that defending is not his strong side, while at the helm of Norwich last season. And he likes to rotate players which is always annoying.So lets take a wait and see approach with the Norwich defense.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Sunderland

Oshea, Brown and Bardsley are all 5 mil and the fixtures look bad enough for me to wait for the first 4 weeks to see who will be the 4th starting defender as he will be a budget option. Bramble or the more likely choice Cuellar are all 4.5 mil. I would suggest to invest in that budget option unless the manager will start rotating them.
<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

QPR

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

This team should do better this season, and investing in their defense when the fixtures improve is not a bad idea. Traore comes in at 5.0 and is an interesting option if he manages to get himself nailed on at the LM spot where he was mostly used at the end of last season, which would make him a nice OOP option. If you want a good nailed on option than Fabio at 4.5 mil is your man, Nelsen coming in from Tottenham is also on my watch list as he is only 4.0 and could be taking over CB spot from Onuoha or Ferdinand.
<h2 style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Budget options

Reading

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Looks like the best bet for a clean sheet by a relegated team but there are unceartanties surrounding starting positions. Harte was looking like a good investment at 4.5 mil as he is the set piece and spot kick taker for reading, like a cheap Baines. Now Reading have brought in Nicky Shorey who plays the same position and suddenly we have a logjam at that position. Also at 4 mil there is Gaspars Gorkss, but another CB (Adrian Mariappa) has been brought in to make the situation difficult for us. But I would like to believe that Gorkss will play as he played the second most games for them last season. Cummings at 4.0 mil should also be a starter, but I will watch the preseason closely to sort out this mess, as a 4 mil Reading defender seems like a must have.

Southampton

Fixtures are poor and defensive record is poor so I would avoid initially. But Daniel Fox at 4.5 mil bagged 11 assists last season and is a good bet for some attacking returns this season as well.
<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

West Ham

<ul style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Guy Demel and Gerge McCartney should be nailed on options at 4.0 but Demel seems to have more of an attacking threat having created 2 assists with only 10 games during his loan move last season. I personally wont look much further at the expensive options, as I dont see them producing much better offensive results.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Norwich

Appointment of a new manager should improve their defensive output, and I investing in their back line for a measly 4 mil is a good idea, as soon as the fixtures get better. Best option seems to be Tierney for his attacking potential and he also seems to be the only nailed on 4 mil defender for them at least for now.
Premierleague.com have released a small teaser in to FPL player prices https://twitter.com/premierleague/statuses/223053062988767233.

Wednesdays tease: Hazard 9.5 m, Pavel Pogrebnyak 5.0 m, Park 6.0 m

Hazard at 9.5 could be decent value if chelsea can get the team to click early. Decision: watchlist

I am not very excited about the other two but Pavel Pogrebnyak at 5.0 could be good value if Reading turn out to be any good. But I am taking a wait and see approach with him, after he failed to get any minutes for Russia in Euro 2012 despite the poor performances of their front man Kerzhakov. Decision:watch closely, could be a nice punt for GW1 dough, considering Reading have the DGW.

Whereas Park I will probably avoid completely, because at 6.0 there are bound to be better players. Park wont take any set pieces and looking at his 4 goals and 4 assists with 24 games started and 11 games off the bench, he has never been a high scorer or assist provider, even for a great team like United. Decision: avoid

The teaser is suggesting that the game will launch soon, time to get back in the FPL zone.

Thursdays tease: Papiss Cisse 9.5 m, Sigurdsson 9.0 m, Shinji Kagawa 8.5 m.

Considering last years points output Papiss Cisse at 9.5m is valued nicely, even cheap if he can replicate his last years form. But I personally feel that teams will be more prepared for Newcastle this season, and that all of their players could let fantasy managers down. This is mostly because last years impressive results have probably inflated all of their prices. Decision: watchlist

Sigurdsson at 9m looks a tad overpriced, but a price in the range of 8-9m was expected. He is expected to start instead of VDV on top of the 3 man midfield that AVB usually uses. The same position Ramirez played for Chelsea, but Siggy is a better attacking player than Ramirez was and probably will have less defensive duties . It looks like most of the offense will go through him, but if we look at the Porto team stats from 2010-11 which is probably the best example of AVBs managerial style we can see that most of the scoring was done by the front 3 players in the team. Hulk, Falcao and Varela combined for 49 in the Portugese league that season, with the next best player scoring only 5 goals. Luckly we have an away game against Newcastle to see how AVB will organize his team, just in time to pick our player to invest in for the following good run of WBA(H) NOR(H), RDG(A) and QPR(H). Decision: watch closely for GW2

Kagawa 8.5m, looks like it could go both ways as we are still unsure on how he will be deployed for the Manchester United team. Mostly because he likes to play behind the striker or on the wing if needed. That would mean he would be starting instead of either Welbeck/Hernandez with Rooney moving up top, or two of Nani, Young, Valencia remaining on the bench. Im really hoping that Fergie tweaks his system a bit and he can come in for Carrick in the midfield to add a bit more creativity to the midfield of United. That would be bad for his fantasy value as he will be depending on assists and rare runs in the box for his points. If he gets to play on the wing or behind the striker on a regular basis he could be the best value in the united team in my opinion, and he would be very likely to produce Silva like stats this season a la 10 ast 10 goals. Decision: great pick if starting

Fridays tease: Tevez 9m, Giroud 9m, Jelavic 8.5m

At first the FPL guys attempted to be funny and tweeted that Tevez was 6m. Not funny guys :)

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

Tevez 9m- At 6 mil everyone was looking to bring him in. But even at 9 if he manages to ensure himself a starting role, he will be a bargain. If he cant than he wont even be worth a look. Decision: great pick if starting

Giroud 9m- He was a nice payer for Montpellier in league 1 scoring 21 goals and 9 ast in 36 games, but it did take him about 8 shots to score a goal. If he takes the place of RVP than one can at least speculate that he will get a similar amount of opportunities as him. That would translate into approx. 21.85 goals presuming that he plays the full 38 games. This would be the best case scenario for him. But this kind of dream story rarely happens, and Podolski is not really a passer and could even start some games centrally instead of him. After saying all of this he could be another Chamakh, or blow up and take Arsenal to the next level without RVP. Decision:watchlist.

Jelavic 8.5m, looks like the most solid pick out of all the players who have had their prices released. Especially if Baines leaves Everton in that case he will be the Penalty taker for Everton. Even if Baines stays he will still be the main source of their goals. Decision: In my team as soon as good fixtures come along.

Saturday and Sunday tease: Clint Dempsey 9.5m, Suarez 9.5m, Walters 6.5m, Michel Vorm 5.5m, Rickie Lambert(SOT) 6m, Kevin Nolan 6.0m

Dempsey 9.5m is a great pick for his home games as always, and even his price is very reasonable considering he was the top scoring mid last season. I would not have been surprised to see him at 10 or 10.5, so this is a nice surprise for fantasy managers everywhere. Decision: In my team as soon as good fixtures come along

Suarez 9.5m- is someone I will try to avoid unless the fixtures get too tasty or form picks up compared to the past 2 years, because a 9.5mil striker with a 6.6% conversion rate is not someone I want taking up one of my valuable 3 striker spots. There is always a chance that he will improve, but thankfully the first 5 fixtures for Liverpool are horrible: WBA(A), MCI(H), ARS(H), SUN(A),MUN(H)-so we have a chance to observe how they play under their new manager. Decision: watchlist

Walters 6.5m- if classified as a forward than avoid . If classified as a mid and he keeps his set piece duties than use the same as last year avoiding him unless the fixtures or form pick up, as Stoke are a horrible offensive side. Decision:Watchlist

Michel Vorm 5.5m- avoid, the price is just too much, and Swansea are unlikely to repeat last seasons defensive soccess, especially as they will have a new coaching and playing style to get used to and have lost one of their key defenders in Caulker. Decision: Avoid

Rickie Lambert 6m- 25 goals and 12 assists last year in the championship and is also the likely penalty taker for his team. There is potential here, but there is need to wait and see here, as he could be another Taarabt. Luckily Southampton have horrible starting fixtures so we have time to observe our options. Decision: watchlist

Kevin Nolan 6m- one of the best players for West Ham, but it seems like the 6m evaluation is more related to his previous impressive FPL seasons, as it seems a bit much. He scored 12 goals and 5 assists last season in the Championship, and it is likely that this number will be reduced against stronger competition. The man is also 30 years old now, and playing with a weaker team than last time he was in the PL, in my personal opinion. He also as no set pieces in his bag, so that makes up my mind that he is not worth investment this year. Decision: avoid.
